Periodontal pocket probers made of stainless steel is a dental instrument used to probe the space between a tooth and the surrounding tissues. The long, thin, and blunted end is applied with light pressure to measure pocket depths around a tooth to establish the state of health of the area that supports and surrounds the tooth known as the periodontium.
