Aspirating syringe is a instrument which is used for the aspiration procedures. It is commonly used in the oral surgery where there is the need to aspirate before giving a local anesthetic block in the targeted area. Negative pressure is applied by the dentist or surgeon to check whether the blood comes into the syringe or not. If not then the procedure is taken forward. The parts of an aspirating syringe include thumb ring, finger grip, finger bar, barrel of syringe, piston rod, harpoon and threaded tip. All these parts work together so that the aspiration can be done in a proper way and speed. There are two types of aspirating syringe which includes c-w type and astra type. The c-w type has a prominent finger bar which makes it easy to support the fingers of the dentist at the time of the aspiration. The finger bar is not present in the astra type and therefore there are more bents in the astra type. The astra type is famously known as the a type of aspirating syringe. The thumb ring ensures that the thumb of the dentists fits in at the time of insertion of the syringe in the patient’s mouth. This ensures that the syringe does not slip in or out of the mouth. Aspirating syringes can be used smoothly and dentists are comfortable using it in the related dental procedures. Thus, aspirating syringe has proved to be of great benefit for the various fields of dentistry. Made in stainless steel.
